Too much excitement for one day

Wow. That’s not a Bill Gates “Wow,” that’s a genuine OMG Wow. Or maybe I just have too much fun too easily.

Anyways, my new shipping & receiving department finally got their act together and the first RedPost shipment of MOR/ryde custom-engineered plasma-cut robotically-welded steel cases for the RedPost/Goshen project just arrived! It snowed a lot this morning and turned into rain this afternoon so it’s been a bit of a mess…the office hasn’t flooded as much as normal, which is nice.

But I digress. The thing is, the cases shipped on pallets on a 20′ flatbed truck…all by themselves from Elkhart. (Hmm…not exactly environmentally friendly. I’ll need a few more carbon credits.) In my mind, pallets = forklift. Fortunately, as part of my $.22/sq ft rent, I get use of a forklift! I’ve never used a forklift before, so naturally I was excited about using such a gadget.

Unfortunately, the forklift battery was dead, but I drove my car into the building and we jumped it. (In the photos (thanks Danny) that’s me in the tan jacket and Dave S. on the forklift). We then loaded the first pallet in out of the pouring rain, went for the second pallet and the forklift died again. However, before we could proceed we realized the pallets weighed about 40 pounds. As in, you could lift them almost by yourself.

All I can say is, “Wow.”
